Erik: #samsung_ln52a750 Yes, Samsung claims to have a 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, but I have a feeling that the 15,000:1 number listed here reflects static contrast ratio. Either way, the report should be more clear.

I am very skeptical of reported contrast ratios in general, since the method of determining the value is left to the whim of the manufacturer. Bigger numbers sell more TVs:
